This hand screen printed tea-towel depicts a pesky Weka (native bird of New Zealand) being sprung eating the left overs from out of a frying pan, he is high tailing it out of there!
The illustration was done by me and took probably over 40 hours to create, it is then transferred onto a silk screen and printed from there.
Wekas are known for their curiosity for all things human -especially if its eatable,
this picture was inspired by my own experiences on the west-coast of the south Island New Zealand last summer.
It is printed with water based textile ink onto a 100% unbleached cotton tea-towel approx
50 x 75cm.
